Gray Matters Music Jam
One Day Music Festival Benefiting UW Carbone Cancer Center- Brain Cancer Research

Sun, Aug 13, 2017 at 1pm

This event has passed.

Gray Matters Music Jam is a one day music festival started in memory of Steve Semmann who passed away from brain cancer in 2007 at the young age of 44.  Brain Cancer is the second leading cause of death among males up to age 34 and is the most common type of childhood cancer.  Over 13,000 deaths occur each year from brain tumors.  People like Steve Semmann (a dad, husband, son, brother and friend) diagnosed with a stage 4 glioblastoma brain tumor have a survival rate of only a few months, sadly these survival rates have not changed over the past twenty years.

It is the goal of Gray Matters Music Jam to raise awareness of Brain Cancer and raise funds to benefit research at UW Carbone Cancer Center.  UW Carbone Cancer Center is the only comprehensive cancer center in the State of Wisconsin and the work being done there to advance survival rates is tremendous.

Gray Matters Music Jam 2017!

Gray Matters Music Jam is a fun filled day of Music, featuring three bands on Sunday August 13th.... All the way from Raliegh North Carolina we begin the day with "Full Moon Pie", Mid Day we feature local Madison Favorite "Wheelhouse" and headlining the event this year is "The Eric Tessmer Band" from Austin Texas.  The selection of music to fill the day is Fantastic... A little rock, a little country, blue grass and soul.  The event will also feature some Wisconsin Badger 5th Quarter fun with the UW Alumni Band!  A silent auction continues our efforts to raise funds for researching this important cause!
